DON'T let it snow

We have enough already! Our town got 30" and there is another 6" expected tonight. Crazy crazy weather. We've had barely any snow at all this winter and then BAM! It all happens in one fell swoop.

Here are some pictures of the digging out...

See how it blew into the door? This is up on our porch which is four feet above the ground.

And Joe having to dig out of the drifts that were up on the back door.

Here is what the drift around the cars looked like. The wind created these strange canyon-like walls in the snow around the cars. Look close, you can see a couple of buried cars across the street.

Here's another picture of the same:

There are still more pictures!

Joe near his car.

Here's another of the drift around the car.

The buried cars...ours and our landlord's.

Joe trying to dig those out.

at least the snow was light--. I waited till Monday to dig out. It was much warmer. It was really hard to figure out how much snow you got. Some places it looked like a couple of feet but then around some cars the snow came up to the windows.

Is it wrong that I'm missing the snow?

No, you aren't. I decided long ago that I couldn't live somewhere without four seasons...

I just wish that I were 7 years old and had snow days. Now I get to work at home instead. Not entirely the same. ;)

I miss snow like that. We get a few measly inches here that gets washed away by rain within a day or so. Have to drive south into the Black Forest and Alps to see the real stuff.

Our blizzard pics are here:

It'll take a lot more than this to make me want to move back to Texas, but I am officially sick of shoveling!
