!!!
A quip from the RNC, which has made my stomach churn so I haven't been watching, but I couldn't ignore this wonderful comment:
"I think Laura Bush is the most elegant first lady we've ever had," said Trudi Dickert, a delegate from Virginia. "She is ... a Southern lady in many ways. She knows her place."
Knows her place?!!!! And what is that?!!!
Oh, oh, I'll just keep my mouth shut. I'm just too pissed off. I guess I don't know my place, do I?

If someone ever told me I "knew my place" I'd likely drop kick them. That's not a compliment.

Good lord. That makes me want to vomit. I thought she was SO STEPFORD last night along with Elizabeth Dole. SCARY.

Absolutely no way can I watch the RNC. I'm like you, it makes me want to vomit.
I've always thought that Laura Bush was "stepford."

Nah. In Stepford, they don't talk like hicks.

I haven't been watching the RNC, but I've heard snippets of it on NPR, and I was so shocked to actually hear Laura Bush speak. I didn't realize it until then, but I don't think I've heard her speak the last four years. (Her smile is burned into my brain, though.)
Maybe I'm just ignorant of her projects, or perhaps subconsciously I've just been ignoring W. and his administration.

Oh, Laura does speak once in a while. Though I don't really pay attention either. I do remember though, that after Reagan died and Nancy started to speak up about stem cell research, Laura decided to speak out AGAINST it (no surprise).
